We seek a highly motivated and experienced Project Director to join a team at a leading company specialising in Renewable Energy with a focus on quality and a commitment to excellence. 

As the Project Director, you will oversee the development and construction of multiple photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. You will ensure all activities meet high technical and quality standards while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing key stakeholders. Your role will be central in guiding projects from permitting to commissioning and supporting a collaborative and adaptable team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and strategic direction across the lifecycle of PV and BESS projects, from development and permitting through construction and commissioning
• Oversee multidisciplinary teams (engineering, permitting, construction, commissioning) to ensure efficient coordination and execution of project goals
• Ensure technical and regulatory compliance, driving adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations
• Manage external stakeholder relationships, including grid operators (e.g., ESO), developers, regulatory bodies, and major contractors
• Lead high-level project meetings, monitor KPIs and progress against budgets and schedules, and report regularly to senior management
• Oversee the resolution of critical issues affecting timelines, cost, or performance
• Contribute to resource planning and HR coordination, ensuring appropriate staffing and team development for project delivery
• Foster a collaborative, communicative, and adaptive leadership culture aligned with company values

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role, including direct involvement in permitting, construction, and commissioning of energy projects
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale infrastructure or energy projects with a strong technical and commercial focus
• Proven track record in managing internal teams and external stakeholders at senior levels
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools; working knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus
• Deep understanding of grid connection procedures, permitting processes, and energy project development in Bulgaria
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Fluent in Bulgarian and English
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed to project sites
